The school's private observatory was located at the Oakland playing fields, beyond the running track in the bottom right. I think it was operational between 1977 to 1984 whilst I was there. G.Moss."

Oaklands Playing field is now home to Retford Athletics Club. Rumours are that the observatory is derelict.
